Angelique school system will observe a 6-day working seek i. e. Monday to Saturday as follows:-
- Pre-School and junior Div – Monday to Friday.
- Senior Division – Monday to Friday.
Saturday may be utilized for extra classes for the 9th / 10th OR weak students. The faculty will be under contractual obligation to attend the School for
(a). Academic or administrative reasons
(b). In service training
(c). Workshops lectures etc
Working Hours and Morning assembly at Angelique
The weekly working hours will be recommended by the Principal after giving due consideration for the weather daylight hours, month of Ramada etc. A timetable of seven periods of 40 minutes each from Monday to Thursday will be followed. On Friday, the number of periods will be six however the duration of each period will remain the same. One long break will be included in the daily routine.
Morning assembly is an important and regular occurring event in the education of a student. In addition to marking the formal beginning of the daily academic activity for the student as well as faculty and staff, it contributes towards punctuality and discipline and provided opportune moments for the overall motivation of students.
Examination Schedule of Angelique
Examination for all classes from Class-1 to 10th will be held according to the following schedule:-
(a) Ist Monthly Test (75 Min Paper in two periods )1st June
(b) 1st Term Exam 2nd Week of November
(c) 2nd Monthly Test 3rd Week of January (75 Min Paper in two periods)
(d) Final Term Starts 1st Week of March
(e) Result Day 31st March
Examination will be held according to the following schedule:-
(a) Ist Monthly Test 1st June
(b) 1st Term Exam 2nd Week of November
(c) 2nd Monthly Test 3rd Week of January
(d) Final Term Starts 2nd Week of March
(e) Matric & O’ Level Examination 2nd week of May.
Textbooks of Angelique
To ensure compliance with the Matric and O- Level syllabus only textbooks recommended by the Federal Board /Cambridge International Examination, British Council Islamabad, shall be included in the academic syllabus for Martic and O level otherwise each year school academic committee will evaluate all the books. Teachers are at liberty to present their case for addition or deletion of a book.
Medium of Instruction at Angelique: The medium of instruction will be English.
Allocating of Subject Periods: Weekly breakdown of activities/periods.
Play Group ( 50 Mins Each Period)
This syllabus will be implemented and followed in the Annual Academic Calendar of the School.
From Classes 1 to 10th the course covered till the end of first term i.e. midterm examination will be from part of syllabi for the annual examination. While computing the result for promotion to the next class, the marks obtained in the summer vacation/ monthly test and mid term examination will be weighted and Aggregate will be added.
Classes of 9th, 10th and ‘O’- Level-1 will be examined for the whole year syllabus during the annual examination. For the calculation of result, the mid-year and annual examinations will be weighted at 25% and 75% respectively.
Standard of Education and Instruction
Angelique administration, faculty and staff shall constantly endeavor to achieve the highest standard of instruction. Following are some of the measures that shall be adopted. The strength of the class should not exceed 25 students. An effective mechanism of supervision of teaching must be implemented:
- Academic calendar
- Teacher’s diaries/binders,
- Lesson-notes/lesson plans,
- Periodic quality checks etc.
- Assessment Performa shall be used for the periodic quality check of the faculty and placed in the Teacher Dossier.
- Teacher’s assessment at the end of each year by students from class 5th to 10th.
Progress Monitoring and Syllabus Tracking Section (PM&STS):
- Attainment of the syllabi
- Extra- curricular
- Co-curricular activities
- Well as to maintain academic records
- Student folders
Only qualified faculty and staff shall be employed who must display.
- The discipline,
- Professional ethics
- Conduct
- Management and administrative competence
- Performance in curriculum related and other activities.
In-service Training of Teachers at Angelique: In-service teacher’s training programs shall be arranged which should include:
- Demonstration lesson
- Seminars
- Workshops
- Video Training
- Teaching and training aids,
- Inter-active training educational visits etc
Home Work and Extra Assignments: Importance of home assignment for the students as a means to consolidate the classroom lesson is acknowledged widely. These assignments may be:
- Oral
- Written
- In the form of short answers
- Objective questions
- Subjects such as mathematics that require repetitive practice may comprise enough practice questions of the type taught in class.
The quantum of work to be given to a student, as an assignment, should by adjust carefully. All students shall possess a homework diary for recording daily homework: ‑
Classes Prep to III 50 Minutes
Classes IV to V 1 Hour
Class VI to VIII 1.3 Hours
Classes 9th, Matric and 'O' level 2 Hours
Activity/Worksheet Record
Class Teacher shall maintain the Activity/Worksheet Record of the students in the teacher’s binder. The Activity/Worksheets for all subjects shall be attempted and completed by the students and a record of oral/written work maintained in their folders as well.
Promotion Policy: Annual Examination
The promotion of a student shall be subject to satisfactory academic performance during the year and final examination. The criteria for minimum pass marks will be strictly adhered to. A student failing to secure 40 percent marks in any 3 subject shall not be promoted.
Recognition of Students' Performance
Students shall be recognized for good behavior and- performance. It is imperative that the achievements of the students should be taken note of and also rewarded adequately. The School must recognize students' good performance and appoint deserving students from each class as Prefect at the beginning of every academic year. This will be done after conducting following actions:
- Written paper “what I will do if I become prefect”
- Speech in class.
- The student with excellent academic record will be prompted to principal.
- Director Curriculum shall approve the list and Oath shall take place within 15 days of start of new session
Recognition of Teachers and Staff for Exceptional Services
The School shall recognize and award the teachers who render meritorious and exceptional services.
The services of the other members of staff who display exceptional dedication and performance throughout the year shall also be recognized.
Parents-Teacher Meeting
- Parents-Teacher Meeting (PTM) provides a good platform and opportunity for the parents' to directly communicate with the teachers and discuss issues and problems related to the children education. These meetings also enable the teachers 'to assess the domestic environment of the children and help in devising means to achieve maximum benefit from the opportunities at home and School.
- PTM shall be arranged at regular intervals, and must be published in the School's Academic Calendar .
- Should there be a requirement; special reports may be raised on students showing deteriorating trends in studies general conduct or discipline.Parents may be invited to discuss matters -relating the children and be duly advised and if necessary warned as well.
Summer School/Winter School
The duration in winter will be one working week while in summer it will be 3-4 weeks. Classes for the major subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Math's, English etc) shall only be conducted. This academic activity must be conducted in the true spirit. At its conclusion the Principal will forward a report to the Director Curriculum & HR of Angelique School.
Allied Academic Facilities
Angelique School must meet the basic and fundamental requirements of the classrooms, laboratories and libraries. The laborites, which are an essential element in the pursuit of sciences, while making the process of learning easy, shall encourage the students to indulge in creative projects to inculcate the quality of research amongst them.
The use of writing boards, display boards, training aids etc shall be made to the maximum to make the class rooms a cheerful environment conducive to learning and shaping of a student's personality. Informative library should be a hallmark of the School.
Maintenance of School Records and School Archive
Archives play a vital role in maintaining the progressive characteristic of any dynamic and developing institution. For this purpose, the Angelique School Archive shall be created under the direct supervision of the Principal. The School Archive shall maintain and preserve the records and historical data through physical as well as electronic means of data preservation. It shall be ensured that the supervisors and administrators have access to relevant records through the networking systems of the School. |
